Shashank is a Level Designer on Crysis 2, today we take a look into his daily routine. This is a very different Dev Diary to those that have preceded it; however we hope you will enjoy learning what it is like to live, work and play in Frankfurt and be part of the Crytek team. As you will find out below, each picture is accompanied by a small snippet from Shashank as he guides you through his day.

I usually wake up between 7 and 8. That's the view of the Frankfurt from my bedroom.
The tall buildings at the back are in the banking district.

I then walk to the train station called 'Sudbhanhof' to catch the train to the next station 'Mainkur' which takes around 7 minutes.

After a short walk, you arrive at Crytek. The main entrance is on the left hand side.

The studio is spread over two floors, Crysis 2 on the 2nd floor and the R&D and Licensing on the the 3rd.

This is our reception area.

The first thing I do once I arrive at work is to grab a bottle of orange juice from the kitchen.
We have quite a good selection of drinks to choose from, but I usually try to stay away from caffine and soda.

I never turn off my PC... Which is not very nice for the environment, but I do turn off my monitors.
The 360 and PS3 test kits run auto-tests constantly, both night and day.

We had quite a few (well, lots of actually) delicious cupcakes in the office to celebrate a milestone.

During the course of the day I find an issue with the collision mesh of a building in my level.
I wandered over to Tim's desk who is a genius 3D artist and spoke to him about fixing it.

While he had a look at the issue, I took this photo which shows you an overview of the Crysis 2 team.

Time for lunch, people either go to some restaurant or pick up some grub from the nearby supermarket.
I had leftovers from the night before.

Post lunch Table Tennis break. I am not very good at it...but it's a good break nevertheless.

We try to avoid having any meetings after lunch as it greatly helps focusing on the work ahead. I spent the rest of the day working on implementing an important feature into my level with the help of Patrick, one of the Lead Level Designers here.
Thanks for reading!
